Maui Film Festival

Maui Film Festival will be held at Wailea and Maui Arts & Cultural Center. 

The Maui Film Festival believes in the power of Original Cinema.Original Cinema is the rocket fuel that powers the Maui Film Festival by revealing its character, igniting its passion, focusing its vision and soothing its soul.

Especially when filmmakers explore what it means to be human alongside Humankind's relationship to all Life, Original Cinema can move culture and shift paradigm, moves culture and build a future worthy of generations yet unborn.

Each year, since 2000, the Maui Film Festival has presented five days and nights of under-the-stars Film Premieres, Special Screenings, Festival Tributes, Filmmakers Panels, and world-class Special Culinary Arts Celebrations that include an Opening Night Twilight Reception, Taste of Wailea, Taste of Chocolate, Filmmaker/Patron Brunch, Starry Night MoonDance and/or VIP Party at Spago.

The Festival has also been hailed as "Hawaii's Answer to Sundance" in the Los Angeles Times by respected entertainment writer John Horn.

 Corona Fastnet Short Film Festival

21st to Sunday 25th of May 2014.

Based in Schull, West Cork, Ireland The festival is now looking for entries. Submissions deadline date 3rd of March.

Filmmakers from around  the world are invited to submit their short films of 15 minutes and under.

The Festival will run for 5 days over the last weekend in May from Wednesday, 21st to Sunday 25th of May 2014.

Golden Trailer Awards

REGULAR Entry Dates: February 8th, 2014 to March 28th, 2014 

Trailers must be under 4 minutes and 30 seconds long (no exceptions)

Creation dates for Trailers/Teasers/TV spots/Video Game Trailers: In order to be eligible, the above mentioned must be created between March 8th, 2013 through April 11th, 2014. That is the creation date of the trailer NOT the film (or video game).

In order to be eligible for SUMMER 2014 BLOCKBUSTER which is for a Film RELEASE date between May 2nd, 2014 until September 1st, 2014 (the upcoming 2014 summer Blockbuster Season). The trailer must be made for a film being released this Summer 2014.

Maximum up-loadable size for trailers is 40MB (please note, the larger the file, the longer the upload for larger files, please be patient if you have a slow connection)

Please NO "bars and tone", NOR "Company Slates" on the front of the trailer. The trailer should begin just after you hit play.

2014 DC Shorts Film Festival and Screenwriting Competitions

11th Annual DC Shorts Film Festival
September 11-21, 2014

DC Shorts turns the spotlight on truly independent short films created around the globe. In 2013, we received over 1,200 entries from 51 nations. We ultimately programed 152 films into 18 unique showcases that played over 11 days to a combined audience of over 9,300 people.

8th Annual DC Shorts Screenplay Competition
Friday, September 19, 2014 

DC Shorts is proud to present a different kind of screenwriting competition. A panel of readers consisting of filmmakers, screenwriters, and critics review and provide condensed coverage (feedback) for scripts of 15 pages or less. Six finalists are invited to attend DC Shorts and, with the assistance of local directors and agents, cast a live table reading of the script from a bank of actors. The readings are performed in front of an audience, who vote on their favorites. These votes, along with the scores of the readers, determine a competition winner.
